A Yanai Initiative: Japanese-English literary translation workshop

We were in charge of poster design for a workshop organized by the Waseda International House of Literature (WIHL) and the Yanai Initiative.

The translation workshop was based on a literary work.
The diagram and arrows represent the thought process of translating the various options, considering the situation and context.

状況や文脈を考えながら、複数の選択肢の中からどのように訳して

Y.O.G.パーマメソッド

“Y.O.G. PERM METHOD”
Written by Toshitatsu, the director of the hair salon RESSUΛL.
With the keyword “Y.O.G.”, a unique perm curling method,
the cover was designed with typography.
Based on the gray color, we aimed for a sophisticated yet somehow rugged appearance.

 

貴龍さん［RESSUAL］著書

「Y.O.G.（ヨグ）パーマメソッド」のデザインを担当。

独自の巻き分け方「Y.O.G.」をキーワードにタイポグラフィで表紙を展開。

グレーカラーをベースに、

洗練されつつもどこか無骨さを感じられるような佇まいに。
